23-30 August 2008
Our cadets were invited by 1123 (Hooton Park) Squadron to attend Nesscliff camp with them from 23-30 August 2008.
We were really disapointed at the start of the summer to be told that we could not hold the camp due to training taking place on the camp for troops going out on tours.
However luckily for us the camp went ahead -
What do you do at Nesscliff Camp ??
Nesscliff is a 'Greens' camp - which means the focus is on Fieldcraft training.
You will get to do many, or maybe if you are lucky ALL of the following activities...
* L98 Shooting (you must be 14 to do this and pass a weapons handling test)
* .22 shooting
* Climbing wall
* Sports
* Team building and Leadership activities
* Fieldcraft - Camouflage and concealment, shelter building, cooking in the field, and much much more
* SAT Range
* Night Exercise
* Confidence course (cant tell you any more about this but the pic in the top left of this page shows Cpl Williams at the end of it !!!)
* Drill Comp - including fun continuity drill routines
* Talent Show
* Disco
* BBQ
Plus..... cadets at Nesscliff 2006 had an amazing 25 min flight in a Chinook Helicopter !!!! no guarantees we will get that this year but fingers crossed....
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A PHYSICALLY DEMANDING COURSE - IF YOU ARE INJURED OR POORLY AND ARE UNABLE TO TAKE PART YOU WILL HAVE TO BE COLLECTED BY YOUR PARENTS/GUARDIANS.
Click here for more information on the DPM (GREEN) uniform you wil need to take to Camp. The Squadron cannot issue this to you as we do not have enough in stock.
