Cadet's stories about flying and gliding...

Gliding Solo by SGT Hughes:

Finally I have been told I am good enough to complete my GS course. Including a solo flight!!

Despite some shaky starts, (Or should I say landings) I have impressed the A-Cat, however due to limitations on flights I was unable to fly solo last week. this leaves the door open to my flight being scheduled for next Sunday, so motorists please be wary around Sealand!!!! The solo will take place after a couple of final flights with a pilot to ensure the conditions on the day do not hinder my landings etc, all being well they should let me go!!

My last landing however entailed my nearly killing the pilot in the back seat. I bounce landed AND ballooned, and because he was so tall he smacked his head! Not funny really, at the time I nearly cried! But they say that my circuit work is perfect and my launches are exceptional, even when the cable decides to break at 250 FT!!! It is all part of the learning curve and this should set me up well for any emergencies that arise!!
