Two Air Cadets from 1074 (Ellesmere Port) Squadron Air Cadets have been on camp at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus.

Cpl Calow and Cpl Williams were part of a small group of Air Cadets who were selected to attend the 9 day camp.

On Sunday the 22nd April 18 Air Cadets from 1074 Ellesmere Port Squadron represented the Squadron at the Merseyside Wing Athletics competition at the Bebington Oval.

Though the weather really wasn't on our side they all still did really well in a mixture of field and track events and we had three cadets that took home medals. A silver medal from Cpl Thomson for discus, another silver medal from Cpl Calow for the 1500m, and a gold medal from Cdt Finlay for the U15 boys javelin. 

A community project got its kick start on Sunday, March 25^th as Air Cadets from 1074 (Ellesmere Port) Air Training Corps learned the basics of computer & mobile application programming and development. 

Lead by Civilian Instructor Dominic Langmead, a student at the University of Chester and Microsoft Student Partner the 10 or so cadets were taught how to create simple applications in Microsoft’s Small Basic – a good introductory tool to the concept of programming and problem solving with gradual progression to the Windows Phone 7 platform.
